Xiaomi has introduced an inexpensive smartphone Redmi A3. The new product offers a large display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and runs on the Android 14 operating system.

The Redmi A3 is powered by a Helio G36 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of 2200 MHz, four Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 1800 MHz and a PowerVR GE8320 graphics core with a frequency of 680 MHz). The smartphone is offered in configurations with 3, 4 or 6 GB of RAM. The predecessor Redmi A2 was equipped with 2, 3 and 4 GB of RAM.

Xiaomi Redmi A3 received a 6.71-inch IPS display with support for a resolution of 720 × 1650 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 coating. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side power button of the smartphone. On the front side there is a peephole of a 5-megapixel camera capable of shooting video in 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The main camera unit of the Redmi A3 consists of an 8-megapixel sensor and an auxiliary 0.8-megapixel sensor. The main camera also shoots video in 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The device ships with a 10W USB-C charger. The device also includes a 3.5 mm audio output.


Redmi A3 will be offered in three colors: Olive Green, Midnight Black and Lake Blue. The basic version of the device with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory is priced at $87/€82, the version with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory received a price tag of $100/€93, and the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory is priced at $111 /€104. Sales of Redmi A3 will begin on February 23.
