The recent battle trailer for the remake of Silent Hill 2 from Bloober Team disappointed fans of the cult horror film, but fans of the Konami franchise were not the only ones who were dissatisfied with the video.
The mentioned trailer debuted as part of the February issue of State of Play, collected 30 thousand dislikes (34 thousand likes) and many negative comments about the dominance of battles, the presence of QTEs, “wooden” animations and other elements.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno in an already hidden interview inwestorzy.tv shared his opinion about the trailer and joked that he himself left these negative comments.
“This trailer definitely doesn’t capture the spirit of the game. Neither the one it was, nor the one we are creating now. We are trying to fully convey the romantic vision of the game that debuted 22 years ago.”— stated Babieno.
Babieno also emphasized that Bloober Team is not responsible for promoting the remake of Silent Hill 2 – all decisions are made by the development partners from Konami. It turns out that they were also involved in the installation of the trailer.
According to Babieno, when players see real gameplay of the Silent Hill 2 remake, they will appreciate it differently. The manager also assured that fans can sleep peacefully: the team uses “all possibilities” engine Unreal Engine 5.
The release of the remake of Silent Hill 2 is expected in 2024 on PC (Steam) and PS5. IN recent Famitsu interview project producer Motoi Okamoto said that development is already at the final stage.
