As you know, Radeon RX 7900 GRE video cards were initially aimed at the Chinese market. However, AMD later expanded the geography of their sales to European markets, as well as other Asian countries. Gigabyte is preparing to release the Radeon RX 7900 GRE video card. The new product will borrow the design of the previously released Radeon RX 7800 XT Gaming model and will be sold in Europe.

The Radeon RX 7900 GRE uses a stripped-down Navi 31 XL graphics processor with 80 compute units on the RDNA 3 architecture, that is, with 5120 stream processors. In Boost mode, it can accelerate to 2245 MHz (the base operating frequency is 1880 MHz). By comparison, the Radeon RX 7900 XT uses a graphics chip with 84 compute units and 5,376 stream processors. The RX 7900 GRE model has 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory and a 256-bit bus; the Radeon RX 7900 XT offers 20 GB of memory with a 320-bit bus.
The Navi 31 XL chip itself has a smaller area compared to the Navi 31 XT, which is used at the heart of the RX 7900 XT, and is fully compatible with the printed circuit boards for the Navi 32 GPU, which powers the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT cards. It is noteworthy that the stated power consumption of the RX 7900 GRE is lower than that of the RX 7800 XT – 260 versus 263 W. Thanks to all this, AMD partners can use ready-made cooling system options for the Radeon RX 7900 GRE, which are used in previously released low-end accelerator models.
Gigabyte has not announced the technical characteristics of its version of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. But, apparently, the card will receive some additional factory overclocking of the GPU.
